Praising the Washed-Up Stars

As I’ve mentioned before, I am a fan of Dancing with the Stars. I recently started watching Strictly Come Dancing (the UK version) and I don’t like it.

Since I don’t know anything about the stars, I can’t tell if these British stars are in desperate need of the praise that they’re getting from the judges.

I don’t think I’m going to keep watching it.

Hitch

Last year, I realized I’d only seen one Alfred Hitchcock movie all the way through (Strangers On A Train). I’d seen bits of about 6 of his movies, and I saw the Psycho remake, but that was all.

Since I set the goal to see all 54 of Hitchcock's movies, I’ve seen 17 of them. Overall, they’re great--there's only one that I didn't like at all (Topaz--boring!).

What is your favorite Hitchcock movie? (Mine is Rear Window).

Next year I'm going back to doing my own taxes

We usually do our own taxes, but last year I received unemployment in two different states, so I wasn't sure how to do them.

We went to a tax preparation chain and they said they would have to charge us $180 each to do our taxes (I had no idea it was that expensive). Before Phil and I could talk about the price, the accountant said she "didn't think it was right to charge so much for such easy tax returns" so she did our taxes in 5 minutes and didn't charge us anything. She did let us give her a big tip.

Good Idea

Since I’ve been taking fused glass courses, I still haven’t found a good way to explain the fused glass process to people. It is a lot easier to just show photos. Here are some of my recent glass projects before they were put into into the kiln and then after. From here, I will cut these glass pieces the sizes of pendants or earrings, and then put them in the kiln again.
